Culture Drop does not sell your data or use it for advertising. The app works without a Culture Drop account, and your saved cards and reflections stay on your device.
Your data stays on your device
Saved cards, journal reflections, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. No Culture Drop account is needed, and nothing you write is sent to us or to any third party unless you choose to report a card (see below).
No ads or behavioral profiling
Culture Drop does not use your saved cards or reflections for advertising or behavioral profiling. The app includes optional, anonymous product analytics and purchase infrastructure, described below, to understand feature usage and manage the optional one-time unlock.
Anonymous analytics
When anonymous analytics is enabled, Culture Drop sends aggregate product events (such as screen views, saves, shares, and purchase results) to Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service. This setting is enabled initially and can be turned off at any time in Settings; it is always off in development builds. These events never include the text of your saved cards, journal notes, source URLs, or any other content you write.
Website analytics
The Culture Drop website uses Umami to count page visits and clicks on App Store and Google Play links. Store-link events include the app and store name. This is separate from the optional in-app analytics described above.
Reporting a card
If you use the in-app "report" action on a card, Culture Drop sends the card identifier and your optional note to help us fix or remove editorial content. This is a deliberate, user-initiated action and is not part of passive analytics.
Purchases
Culture Drop Pro is an optional, one-time purchase that removes the saved-card limit. If you make or restore this purchase, Apple and RevenueCat process purchase and entitlement information so the app can unlock Pro features. These services are not used for advertising or behavioral profiling.
Crash and error reporting
The app includes Sentry for crash and error reporting. When a crash or error occurs, Sentry receives technical information such as the error and stack trace, app version, device model, operating system version, and diagnostic logs or interface breadcrumbs recorded around the error. It is configured not to collect your IP address.
Reminders
If you turn on the daily reminder in Settings, it is scheduled locally on your device through Apple's notification system. No reminder data is sent to us.
